Overview

This ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) was custom made for the Yakima Valley College Biology department with input from the Biology department staff and students. The vehicle can be controlled from land using a tablet and would operate underwater. It has two high definition cameras that can be viewed and recorded on a laptop.  
 

Control System

The control system in comprised of a tablet with the Blynk app used by the driver that connects wireless to a Raspberry Pi running a local Blynk server. There is a 100 ft Cat 5E network cable that is the sole data connection to the vehicle. The connection comes into the sealed enclusure of the vehicle using BlueRobotic's cable penetrators.
